Visa / Passport for newborn in USA

I am H1 and my wife is on H4 we just had a baby and my wife is planning to travel to India for few months, which passport we can apply and what about the Visa for the newborn on returning to USA..

-- your baby is USA citizen as birth, so, read that link which mentioned by our one senior member,
your baby need PIO Card from Indian Embassy or consulate you can get it, OR if PIO card you don't want then she needs visa to travel India (Indian visa). my suggestion is applied for PIO card it's valid for 5years.
