  • 221G at New Delhi

I went along with my wife for my H1 re-stamping at the New Delhi Consulate on 21st July. I have had H1 stamps twice before this and lived in the US for 4 years. First H4 for wife, recently married.

After a long interview, the VO was not convinced about my employer and asked for the following documents,

    1. Letter from End Client
    2. Complete itinerary of services
    3. W2 of all employees
    4. state unemployment wage reports
    5. Tax returns of employer for last 2 years.
    6. List of all employees, notarized.

I submitted the Client letter, tax returns of employer and notarized list during the time of interview and the VO mentioned he will take a look at the submitted documents and I may still have to work on getting the W2s and unemployment wage reports.

As I was waiting for the documents from my employer, I received a new 221g by email asking for client letter with my employer's name mentioned in it.

As per my employer's advice, since I had the W2s and wage reports with me now, I submitted all the documents along with new client letter on 24th Aug at the Chennai VFS who would forward it to the New Delhi Consul.

I am posting my experience and will update as I hear from the consulate. Just starting this thread to hear from fellow 221g greens from New Delhi Consulate.

    Cheers!
