H4 to F1 conversion. H4 visa validity for UK transit to India?

Hi,

I converted from H4 to F1. The F1 petition got approved while I'm in US on H4. I'm going to India in Dec 2009. My H4 visa stamp is valid till Nov 2010. So can I use my H4 visa stamp to transit through London Heathrow airport? LHR requires a valid US visa for transiting. So is my H4 visa valid for transiting?

When you transit via London Heathrow airport they don't check you petition details. So the details like you COS from H4 to F1 will be of no importance to them. As long as you have a valid U.S visa stamped in your passport, you are good. If you want to be rest assured, send an email to the British Embassy in U.S (NY/CA) with the details and carry the reply that states that there will be no issues during your transit.
