Change of status from H1B to H4

Hi,

I came to US on H4 visa in March 2007. My H4 was valid till Sep 2008. I applied for my H1B and got an Approval in October 2007.
I haven't got my H1B stamped yet. I worked till March 2009 and currently on bench. My consultancy is unable to find a job due to bad economy.
I have my pay stubs till march 2009.

1) Which documents are required to change the status from H1B to H4.
2) I am planning to go to Canada for my H4 visa re-stamping, will there be any problem?
3) Which documents i have to present for H4 visa stamping and Will I have to show any documents related to my H1B ?
4) What would be best thing to tell the immigration officer.

Please reply as soon as possible.
