H1B petition transfer from company A to company B

Hi,

I have my H1B petition approved from my current employer A (in India) . H1B Visa is not stamped yet and i do not have my petition copy with me. Its with the current company's travel department.

I have the receipt number details of my H1B petition. Will it be possible to transfer my H1B petition from company A to B?

If you haven't travelled to U.S, then you don't need the pay stubs or I-94 to do a transfer. If you are sure that the receipt number that you have belongs to you, then you can apply for a transfer with another company with just the receipt number to prove that you are already cap counted. However, it is safe to have a copy of the approval to be 100% sure that the receipt belongs to you.

Also, since the H1B quota is still open, you can also ask the new employer to file for a new petition.
