Air ticket and H-4 Visa

Hi,

I am going to India end of next month, November, to get married. I am going to have her apply for H-4 visa and bring her back with me to US in the middle of December. Could you please tell me if it is possible for me to purchase ticket for her now before she applies for her H-4 visa?

I hear conflicting opinions about this. Some say that she needs to have her visa first or she can not get tickets to US. Your help will be greatly appreciated.

It really depends upon the travel agent. Some travel agent try not to issue the air tickets before the person has the visa just so that these customers don't bother them later in case they don't get the visa.

However, there is no such official rule.
