H4 stamping-Social Security number masking

Hello All,

My wife will be attending for H4 stamping. I am sending scanned copies of my W2. 1040 forms which has the social security number on it. Is it ok if I mask them when I scan them. Will the visa officer have any problems with that during H4 stamping ?

Is there a specific reason why you need to do that? There is no point in giving a copy of the W2 without the SSN. That is the one that proves that W2 belongs to you. W2's of the primary H1B candidate are rarely asked during the H4 visa interview. It is nice to have incase they ask.

Thanks Shervin. I just thought of masking it to be on the safer side. If thats not required, I will leave it alone.
