h1 transfer i94 date

I am currently working for company A and my visa and I94 with the current company expires Aug 2010. I have got an offer from from Company B and they applied for H1 transfer and got it approved. The update from USCIS says the validity of the (transfer) pettition expires Dec 2010 and they have specified my current I94 number.

Does this mean I can stay in the US till Dec 2010?
Also will the end date in the I 94 be changed in their system?
