Validity of lottery result 2008-09 H1-b

Hi,
My company applied for my visa in 2008-09 session. I was lucky to get through lottery. Lottery result came on 22nd May 2008. But not lucky enough to go for interview.

Is my Visa application still valid as visa application for next yr has started?

Is there any time period during which after result of lottery one need to go for interview?

As long as your approval notice is valid you can go for the visa interview.
