  • Can I get my H-1B visa stamped in a different consulate from the one in I-797 form?

    Hi everyone,
I have received the I-797B notice for my H1-B visa approval, and I am going to schedule my appointment at the US consulate in Berlin. However, on the "Class Consulate or POE" in my I-797B form, it says "H1B Frankfurt". So... can I get my H-1B stamp in Berlin instead of in Frankfurt? Frankfurt is closer to the city I am living in, but it's cheaper for me to travel to Berlin.

I am a Taiwan citizen, but I am currently living in Germany.

    Thanks!

        Hi,

Sorry about asking one more question. I checked again what is written on the I-797 form. There was a sentence in the middle box says "The above petition has been approved and notification has been sent to the listed consulate." I know you answered yes I can still go to Berlin, but I am a bit nervous about this interview so I want to confirm again... Please let me know if in this case, I'm obliged to go to the assigned consulate. Thanks!
