H1B transfer from cap exempt to cap employer

Hi,

I have a PhD from a US university. I have been working for a university (cap-exempt) under H1B visa since 2007.

If I get a job in the industry(cap), would I be able to transfer the H1B ?
Is this transfer same like a transfering from one industry to another industry?

Cap is applicable only to new H1s.
Transfer is not cap-counted, so you should be able to transfer to any employer, anytime before its expiry.
