H1 renewal at nassau, bahamas; current h1 expired over 12 months

Hello all,

I'm going to attend a H1 visa renewal appointment at nassau, bahamas on March 1st. My first H1 visa expired in Oct 2008, so it's been expired for over 12 months. However, my 797 was extended and approved until Oct 2011. So i've always been with on a valid status. But i heard it might be a problem if your visa has been expired for over 12 months. Is this really an issue?

I read some stuff about this, but it looks like only US consulates in India ask that question while trying to get an appointment.
Has anyone attended an H1 visa renewal in bahamas with a similar situation?

No issues. You don't need to have visa while in US.
