New I797 VS Old I797 Question for scheduling H4 visa interview

I have scheduled a visa interview for my wife using receipt number of existing I797 that expires in Aug 2020. The Visa fee is paid and interview is set.

Now my employer is sending me another I797 with dates extended to Oct 2021.

Since visa fee is paid and appointment set, no changes can be made to DS160 or Visa portal.

Can I still ask her to go for the interview in June 2019 with existing application or do I need to cancel appointment and do it from the beginning again and pay Visa fee one more time with fresh DS160 form?

In my case I emailed Vancouver embassy explaining them I did mistake in DS 160. They asked me to submit new and send them confirmation email. I did and they uodated DS 160 in interview details. You can try such thing.
