L1 To H1 Transfer with COS Problems!!!

If you get Canada/Mexico visa, go there and reenter US on L1.
The only other option is to go your home country and enter on L1.

There shouldn't be any issues. As suggested, leave the country and re-enter in L1. The key is, you need to return the I-94 from H1B (In fact, you will need to return all the I-94's) without fail when you leave the country.

So if I go to my home country and while entering into US using L1 visa...can't the officer check my current status as H1?
If so isn't it a problem?
