Me and My wife came to US through common employer with individual H1s.
Our H1Bs are filed in August 2000 and were issued only in the February 2001. We came to US in April 2001. H1B stamps were upto August 2003 for both of us.
I have changed my employer in Jan 2003 and got new H1. The new H1 was issued to me upto Jan 2006.
I heard that Since we entered US in April 2001, We are allowed to stay on Work visa ( H1) until April 2007. Does the 6 year period count from the day you land in US or will it count from August 2000, in the month, that our H1Bs are applied?
Many are giving conflicting answers.. we are confused.
