  • Change of Status from L1B to H4

    Hi,

I have valid L1 and H4 stamped on my passport. My l1 has end date in May 2010 and H4 in oct 2012. While entering US on L1, I was issued I-94 with end date as 2012.

I plan to quit my job and move to H4 status.
Do I need to file Change of Status because my I-94 is already till my H4 end date

The I-94 that you have now is for the L1 status. You will need to file a COS to H4 which upon approval will come with a new I-94 and will change your status to H4. If you don't file a COS you will go out of status on L1 (While you are in L1, you need to be working and get paid).
