Hi

Currently I am having valid H1B visa with Company A and working with company A.

I do have petition for company B.

My wife have valid H1B with company C.

My question is:

can i transfer my H1 status (company A) to H4 with company C and then once I get job can I switch back to company B (since i have valid petition)?

I am asking this because I want to avoid going India for stamping.

Please suggest me.

Changing to H4 has nothing to do with any company (Company C in your context). For changing to H4, your spouse should be maintaining a valid H1B status and you should have latest pay slips from your current H1B. Later if the company B's petition remains valid, you can do a COS from H4 to H1B. If the COS gets approved, then you can start working for Company B.

1) If COS denied, can i still stay on H4?
2) If COS denied, can i reapply again?
3) what is the probability of COS getting denied? Any specific reasons?
