**** H1 visa appointment at HYDERABAD for MAY 2010????????

Hi, I am looking for student visa appointment at Hyderabad for May 2nd week. I found there is no appointment available right now. I am thinking of taking an appointment at Chennai consulate. Please advise me how did you take the appointment at Chennai consulate? If I give my state of residency as Andhra Pradesh, the calendar shows only Hyderabad consulate dates. Please let me know asap. Thanks.

I think when we apply for h1b visa from US, people are free to apply at any consulate office. I don't think that would be the case for people applying from india to my knowledge.

Any further clues?

Any further clues on what's happening with dates availability as I need to get dates by end of May? Can one go to Chennai for visitor visa?

I couldn't find any dates in May since a week or so though someone mentioned earlier that few dates were open on 4/29 early morning. Also, someone said dates are available in the India morning times but it wasn't as I checked last night (US time).

You need to check it atleast for 4-5 days. And if you are going from US, then you can take appointment at any center. The region limit is only for who are applying from india.

Being a resident of Hyderabad, H-4 Visa appt at Chennai Consulate

Hi All,
I have an appt on 24thMay for my H-4 at chennai consulate as I am resident of Hyderabad. I am unable to find appt's at Hyderabad Consulate office and fixed appt with Chennail Consulate by selecting the State of Resindency as "Tamilnadu"

Is this cause any problem for my Visa as I have received an email from VFS consular office in Chennai which has given below and I have done appt by selecting "Tamilnadu" as state of residency.

It would be appreciable if any one who is in the same situation or who has already attended the interview in Chennai with having Hyd as state of residency.

Kindly note the allocation of interview appointments on VFS website is the sole discretion of the Embassy/Consulate. VFS is neither involved nor responsible in any manner whatsoever for allocating appointment seats.

The Consulate regularly reviews and allocates seats for different visa categories & specific languages (language to be selected by the applicant for the interview), based on the requirement and availability of resources. If at any point of time you are not able to view a seat allocation as required, you may exit the website. You are requested to check the website for the earliest available date and then reenter your data to schedule your appointment at a date more suitable to you.

If you have selected the state of residence as “Andhra Pradesh” and if the Hyderabad dates are not available, some time it might show you Chennai Calendar. In that case you can schedule the visa appointment in Chennai.
