H1b application with expired passport. Currently F1, cant renew passport. Pls help!!!
Dear all,
I am f1 student pursuing masters degree in computer science in United States. Company that I am working as a CPT intern wants to apply for H1b petition in first quarter of 2020. However my passport recently expired. I am from a small country, which requires citizens to go back to their countries for passport renewals. And it takes at least 3 month to get passport renewed. Once renewed, us embassy visa appointment scheduling also takes at least a month. This much time also will affect my student status. Can my company still proceed with H1b petition with expired passport? Is it possible to get approved and then if required to renew passport? What would be your suggestion? I have an email letter from my embassy in US that tells that they cant help me with passport renewals. Will this letter help?
