H4 to H1b Please Help

I have H1b visa stamped and is valid from Sep 08-Sep 2011. I was on a project from Oct 08-Dec 09. I had to move to H4 in Dec 09 as i didnt have a project with my current employer. Now i found a new employer through my current employer. He has not cancelled my H1b when i moved to H4 status.

Now I need to start work from Monday. So can i travel out of US and at the port of entry, enter using my H1b visa?

Please help as this is urgent...

I am not sure what you mean when you say "Now i found a new employer through my current employer". Are you going to stay with the same employer or you joining a different one? If you are going to work for the same employer, then you can leave the country and re-enter back in H1B visa. If you are going to work for a new employer, then an H1B transfer will need to be filed and it has to get approved for you to start working for the new employer.
