I have applied for my H1 visa extension and was unable to file the H4extension for my wifewho is with me in the US. Now that my visa is expired, what should i do?

Your visa has nothing to do with your wife's extension. You will need to file her H4 extension before her I-94 expires. Extension is not possible if her I-94 has already expired. You can file her extension based on your H1B extension receipt number (no need to wait until the approval).
