Hi,
I (H1B) and my wife (H4) had a successful visa renewal interview at the Mumbai consulate on the 17th May 2010. After the interview the officer informed that the passport would be couriered to us.
My wife got the stamped passport within a couple of days, however I am still awaiting the passport. The online status shows that the passport is still with the consulate and not handed over to VFS for collection/ courier.
I have my return tickets booked for the 30th of May 2010 and am concerned about not getting the passport by then. My attempts at contacting them were responded with replies such as the stamping is in process and should be ready soon and that I do not have to go back to the consulate.
Just wanted to know if there are others who has faced a similar issue and how they handled it. Also if there are any other contacts that can be approached with regards to this issue. Thanks in advance.
