H1b extension 8th year after i-94 expiry

Need help in answering below, my I-94 expiry is on 24-April and H1b extension was filed on 30th March. Haven't received the receipt yet and even the check was not encashed. Does this mean the process is assumed to be started or not and can I continue working after 24th?

Hi,
Normally, If you filed the petition in normal process, it will take some time to receive the notice through postal mail. So, once your petition got delivered to USCIS then no issues. But, Please make sure you got H1B receipt notice with the received date of before your I-94 expiry date.
