H1B visa

Hello,

I have a physician that states that she was not given a visa like the example one that shows on your site. (the one with the picture on it) She can only produce the I-797A Notice of Action form that states ‘this form is not a visa nor may it be used in place of a visa’.

Could she be mistaken? When is the card like the example with the picture given to the worker?

That seems like the H1 approval notice. Using that, the person has to get the H1 visa to enter the US.

If the person is already in the US, H1 visa is not required.
