Hello.
Currently, I work full-time in Michigan as an engineer with a valid H1B visa which expires in October 2021 and this would be my first H1B extension. I know this is not the best time to consider switching the job under the current circumstance, but I am looking for a better opportunity because I am not very satisfied with the current employer. I did some research about the risk of switching the job (transferring the visa), but none of the articles I read mentioned about the visa transfer and that is why I came to this forum hoping that someone can answer my question. My question is, let's say a new employer offers me a job next month, can I transfer my H1B visa without being affected by the recent visa suspension, or will I not be able to transfer the visa at least until the end of this year (and possibly even longer)? How does the visa suspension affect the people who want to switch the job with a valid H1B visa but haven't started the visa transfer process yet?
I would appreciate your advice.
Thank you.
