  • H1B renewal (me), H1B renewal(wife) and H4 renewal for my son(dependent ) - DS 160

    Hello,

We as a family are planning to visit India for stamping appoitment in
    India/Hyd/Chennai.

I am coming for H1B renewal(7th year Extension).

My wife is also for H1B renewal(5th year Extension) and my son who is
dependent(H4) renewal on my wife H1B.

Now we all want to go together for stamping H1B renewal (me), H1B
renewal(wife) and H4 renewal for my son (dependent on my wife H1B).

I am not sure how to do in our case and take appoitments for 3 of us
    togther for stamping?

Please help what is the process in the DS-160 form to address this issue.

    Hi ,

As far as I know - Two H1 appointments cannot be together i.e. same time , same counter .
So in this case you have to take H1 appointment for you and for your wife separately - can be taken for same day and for H4 it can be taken either with you or your wife as one H1 and multiple H4's can be together

Note - this is my view as I am not sure of the Visa appointment system.
and you can always call VFS Helpdesk for any VFS/Visa appointment /Visa form issues

    Thanks and Regards,
    Abhay

Two H1B appointments cannot be combined together. You have to book a separate appointment for you and your wife need to book an appoint for her and include your son as a dependent on that appointment. However, you both can schedule the appointment on the same day (maybe same time).
Not a legal advice. Use of this information is strictly at your own risk.

        Kumar,

I am not sure what is the urgency or need for u to have the VISA stamped in India. I mean if ur India trip is just for stamping then doesnt make sense.

I am not sure whether u noticed that there was a H1B memo in Jan, 8, 2010 for Employer-Employee relationship. But on the whole they are making & giving tough time the H1B holders for renewals & during stamping. So make sure u inquire around the status of the US attitude towards H1B stamping.
