When to apply for H4 COS

Hi,
I am presently on H1 but I dn't wnt to continue further and want to tranfer to H4.
Should I apply for H4 immediatly or I can apply on the last date of the month?
I dn't wnt to go into the next month on H1.If I do efiling then I can be on H4 immediatly,is this correct?

Advisable to apply immediately if you have already decided not to continue working after this month. Until the H4 is approved, you will not be in H4 status. Upon receiving the receipt notice, you can stop working or continue until the H4 gets approved. It will take a at least a week to get the receipt notice.

If I do E-filing ,in this case I will get the receipt number.This I can do anytime,isn't it?

USCIS wants the COS to be applied at least 45 days in advance. So it is still advisable to file it as early as possible instead of waiting till the last minute.
