  • F1-H1B Visa Stamping

    Hello,

    My F-1 visa was converted into H-1B from March 1, 2010. I was planning to go to Delhi, India in December end. I had few questions regarding that:
    - When do the visa appointment dates generally open for December?
    - I believe December must be a busy season, since most people visit India during the holidays. Should I keep anything specific in mind while booking my flight tickets?
    - Also does the holiday season affect the number of allowed visa appointments at the US consulate?

    One more question. If I have to go out of US before that, I would have to get my H-1B visa stamped from Canada. Is that possible for F1 to H-1B COS cases?

    Thanks a lot!

    >>> 2-3 weeks in advance.

    >>> Nothing. Book early so that you could get a cheap ticket.

    >>> No. But consulates will be closed during the U.S holidays. Because of the less number of days, the appointments will get filled up little quick.

    >>> Since you did your studies in U.S, you can get your H1B stamped in Canada.
    Not a legal advice. Use of this information is strictly at your own risk.
