  • Green Card/F-1

I am currently on a H1-B (expiring in Spe 2010). My employer has started the GC process. I already have an approved labor certification and I-140.
I plan on enrolling into a MBA program in the near future. Will switching to a F-1 completely halt my green card process? If I do plan on switching would I have to start the entire process from scratch or do I pick up from where i left?

GC is for future employment. Employer can continue the GC if they have intention of hiring you back later. If you want to join a new employer, then the GC process has to be started all over again (You can recapture the priority date though).
