  • H1B Visa Questions!

    Folks,

My name is Clyton and this is my first question in this forum. I need your assistance to get rid of my trivial worries.

Shortly after my graduation I decided to pursue my higher studies at London but my visa had been rejected. Immediately we changed the destination and the plan was to go to Toronto. It was a blunder! Again my visa got rejected due to some trivial reasons. But I didn’t give up. I kept trying! I tried but they rejected. I tried again but they rejected again. Now collectively I got three refusals. I thought I am consistent but later I realized how stupid I was! Honestly, I had been misled by a consultant! No blaming games.

Now I am working with AT&T in India and planning to go US. My questions are

    1. Will these refusals make any impact if I go for H1B visa now? (FYI: I had UK/Canada rejections three years back)
    2. Can I take my wife along with me while I go to US? What sort of visa she has to apply?
    3. I am working in Hyderabad now but basically from Tamilnadu(My passport has Tamilnadu address). Where I need to apply my visa? Chennai or Hyderabad?

    I am full of questions. Aren’t I?

I appreciate your patience for reading my questions. Have a wonderful day.

    Thanks in advance!

    >>> It will not be, although they will look into your application a bit closer since your visa was refused earlier. There is a question in the DS160 application where it asks if there is any prior U.S visa refusals.

    2. Can I take my wife along with me while I go to US? What sort of visa she has to apply?
    >>> Yes. She will need dependent visa (H4).

    3. I am working in Hyderabad now but basically from Tamilnadu(My passport has Tamilnadu address). Where I need to apply my visa? Chennai or Hyderabad?
    >>> If you are living in Hyderabad for the last 6 months or more, then you should apply at the Hyderabad consulate as that is where you will have address proof.
Not a legal advice. Use of this information is strictly at your own risk.
