  • H1B approval for less than 6 months

Recently filed H1 extension after 6 years max out (currently in India) and approved I-140 but USCIS approved H1B from March-August. Has this happened to anyone before? I'm confused why it wasn't approved for 3 years despite having an approved I140. Please let me know if there is a reason?

    Hi,
Approval Duration will be based on Project duration(This is one of the main criteria. But along with that, there is lot of other reasons also for Approving H1B durations) . Kindly check the documents again that your Employer submitted.. And also, Please check your passport validity too.
    Thanks.

      Hi,

thank you for responding. I checked with the lawyer and they filed for 3 years in the LCA as well. also passport is valid until 2027. Really confused why uscis would approved for such less time. Could it be a typo issue? has it happened before for anyone?
