H4 extension pending and want to change visa status to F1.

I have filed for my H4 extension in October 2020 and it is being processed. I am a student and wish to change to F1 visa.
Once I leave the country and go to my home country for my F1 visa application process, will I be abandoning my H4 extension application?
If my F1 visa gets denied, will I have to wait in my Home country till my H4 is approved by the USCIS or can I apply for an H4 visa at a consulate in my home country?
Please give me some insight on what my options are right now. Thank you.

Hi,
If you get your F1 visa through consulate, you will need to withdraw H4 petition immediately. On another hand, if you get denial on F1 visa, later you can go for H4 visa Stamping with New DS160 form. But, Please provide accurate and genuine Answer when you fill the DS 160 form.. With that, you can try the best way.
