Am an Australian citizen whats the procedure to get H1 visa?

Just wondering If I need to apply for H1 visa or being an Australian citizen I have direct entry?

---- With the approval petition you apply for a H1 visa at a US Consulate and get a visa stamped on your Paspot to travel to the US
