L1 to H1 Change of Status Duration

Hi,

I am on L1 in U.S from company A and I have 2008 H1 processed while in India from company B which is going to expire in Mar 2011.

Now I am planning to move to B ..So I think B has to apply for COS .

My question now is that when B applies for COS , will I get the COS approved till March 2011 only or more??

If it is till March 2011, then do I have to go for extension again then??

or Is it possible that when B applies COS , I might get it for next 2 or 3 years and there is no need for extension?/

B can apply for 3 years if they file a new petition (cap-exempt based on their previous petition).
Alternatively, they can file an amendment to the previous petition now and extension later.

Only the time spent in H1 or L1 status in the US counts against 6 years.
