  • H1B to CPT requirements

Hi All - I'm currently working for Company A and I got a job in COmpany B so initiated a transfer and planning to join company B,If I dont get H1B transfered there is a chance that my current employer may revoke my resume. So I want to be on the safe side.I have few questions for changing my status to CPT.

1)Am I eligible to change my status to CPT I dont have any masters degree or I never statyed in F1 status before ?

2)If I can then how soon do I need to apply the status change.

3)My current H1B is going to expire by Sep 30th with the first employer,So I need to apply this before that.DO I need to write any GRE,TOEFEL etc for the transfer?

4)Can I tranfer back to H1B next year ? or is there any waiting period.

    Your help is highly apreciated.

    Thanks

You are not eligible for CPT or OPT. CPT (Curricular practical training) is an employment option available to F-1 students in which the work experience is considered to be an integral part of the curriculum or academic program. This employment may be an internship, cooperative education job, a practicum, or any other pre-approved work experience. CPT is not an entitled benefit.
