  • H1B Transfer and gaps in jobs

Please help me to take a better decision.. Here is my situation.

I am currently with Company A on H1B (valid till next year). I got a job offer from Company B and H1B transfer approved for Company B.
I resigned and my last day is 31st Aug 2010, and planning to join in Company B on 1st Sep 2010.
Now I got the better offer from Company C and they will start H1 B transfer(will send H1B transfer documents to VSC) on 7th Sep 2010.

I cant continue with Company A after 31st Aug.

    1. Can I resign from Company A and wait for a week and join Company C on 7th Aug (I might be having just the fed ex receipt number not the EAC number).
    2. If I am waiting for a week (no job) is this considered out of status (I have company B's H1B transfer approved but not joined).
    3. Should I join Company B for a week and resign from there?.. will It impact my GC processing?

Thank you in advance for your responses.

---- You may join company C with the FEdex receipt, but is always wiser to wait for the EAC number as it becomes official

    2. If I am waiting for a week (no job) is this considered out of status (I have company B's H1B transfer approved but not joined).

---- NO. It is not considered to be out of status as long as you have applied froa transfer and have a receipt number

    3. Should I join Company B for a week and resign from there?.. will It impact my GC processing?

---- You can do that. Then you will be serving god and mammon at the same time. It does not have any impact on GC processing. It depends from which company you are applying for a GC and job requirements with that company
