Is it possible to apply for L2 visa while I hold a H1 visa?

Hi, My husband would be travelling to U.S in 3 weeks on an L1 visa. I have a H1 visa but have never travelled to U.S till now. Would it be possible to process my L2, even when my H1 is still active or do I need to relinquish my H1 to apply for the L2 visa? Kindly advise.

There is no problem.
H1 visa in your passport may be canceled, but the underlying petition and cap number are not lost.
