H1-B Approval notice

I just checked my status for H1b online it says they have approved my petition. My employer just told me he hasnt recieved any mail from USCIS also he said they might have approved the petition for 1 year so has anyone received approval for 1 year? is there a way I can check it online whether they have approved my petition for 1 year or 3 years?
