H1b restamping got 221g second time.......Please respond

Hi All,

I had attended visa interview in Chennai on 23 Aug 2010 for H1b visa renewal and got 221g query for documents. I dropped all the documents on 2nd September 2010.
Today(15 Sep 2010) I got back all the documents that I had dropped and the same 221g blue form but this time in the blue forms' "other" section it has been hand written asking me to submit work schedule till the end of the H1b petition , that is 2 years from now ( not sure if my company will be able to submit plan of work for 2-3 years). Also they have put a small green 221g Case sticker on my passport.

My questions are :

1. Has any one faced the same situation, please let me know....will my case ever get cleared?

2. My wife is in US on L1, and we are expecting our baby in November, given this situation can I now apply for L2 atleast to go to US for 5-6 months close all my commitments and return back??

I have another question:

Can I tell the same situation if the Visa Officer askes me, why am i applying for L2 when I have H1 221g pending?

I don't think they will ask you that. If asked, you can always say that you want to join your spouse in U.S and you never know when the 221g will get cleared.
