Got L1 stamped few days ago .. Can i travel on H4 ?

Hi,

I am on H1b from last 4 years and My husband has a valid H4 visa. He got his L1 stamped last week but have no plans to travel on L1 untill jan 2011.

Now he needs to travel on his H4 visa for few days which was not cancelled by the consulate. can he do that without an issue
