Can I work in US without sponsor?

Hello, I graduated from ABA approved law school and graduated.
Now, I am waiting for NY bar result.

I am looking for contract attorney position which lasts only several months.

And the companies do not sponsor for those temporary attorneys.
What visa do I need to get to work in the US?

And is there any way that I can get permission to work in the US withouth sponsor?
Please give me an advice.
