Travel during H1 transfer in progress

I moved to company A from company B. Company B applied for H1 B transfer and its still in process. My H1 from previous company A was stamped and is valid till December 2011. I know that I don't need a new visa stamp, but I am not sure if I can travel to India while this new H1 from company B is still in processing. Please advise.

Travel is not recommended. Avoid it at all costs. Consult with the attorney that filed for a transfer of H1b.
