  • H1B Stamping with Non-IT Degree

    Hi
I got my first H1b approved for System Analyst position. I have a B.E (Mech) Degree and 5 consultants got stamped in Chennai in the last 6 months for my Employer without any probs. I have 6+ years of IT Experience with 31/2 years working abroad (not in U.S).

I would like to know if there will be any probs in Consular Interview due to my Mechanical Engineering Degree.
I am applying for H1 and H4 stamping for my Wife and Kid simultaneously.

I have my original I-797, Copies of I 129 W (Mechanical Engineering) is mentioned, Offer of Employment, LCA copy and Degree Evaluation Copies.

Do I need anything else. I appreciate any positive feedback from experienced people in this forum

    Hi abc123
You carry all your experience certificates from the previous and present job,Pay slips,Id cards, references, etc. It should not be a problem. If your area of education is Mech Eng they might ask you a question as to How you can justify yourself that you can perform Computer related job though your primary education field is not related to the job offered to you.

Best of luck.Hope this Info helps.

    Regards
    Sippy.
