Passport delivery delay after H1B issued

I have noticed that people usually receive their passport the day after their Visa status changes to 'Issued'. It has been 3 working days since the visa was issued and passport is currently in VFS possession under the status 'Origination Scan'. This status has not changed for 3 days. I'm getting skeptical that there has been a human error here or my passport is lost in transit.

The customer support says the usual that they have no information. I feel quite helpless here and wanted to see if anyone had been through an extended delay in receiving their passport after Visa issuance and if there is anything I can do about this.

How do you know it is currently under "VFS posession" ? If you know that you can just go there and ask for it.
