Discrepancy in email and physical notice for H1B NPT case

My lawyers filed an H1B extension with NPT and received an email saying that the case has been approved along with extended i94 dates 2 weeks ago. The online status says “case approved” as well. However, they received a notice denying the extension today in physical mail. What does this mean and what are my options here?
