Hi Fellow Visa Seekers,
I am staying in the US for last 6.5 years. For last 3 years I am working for the same company in chemical engineering field. I went to Mumbai consulate on 11th Feb to get H-1B visa stamped. I went to the consulate to get my visa for next 3 years. I had all the necessary documents.
I work in the field of pressure safety on site of a chemical plant.
Well, they did not give me visa that day. But they told me to fill out one questionnaire of 12 questions. One lady in window #5 entered some information into her computer and told me that information will be sent to Washington. And the consulate will contact me in about 10 to 15 days. She returned my passport and Rs. 2300/- demand draft.
Can somebody please tell me what does this mean? If similar thing has happened with anybody can you please tell me what steps to take? Do I have to go through appointment procedure again?
I have already emailed my employer about the situation.
