H4 children EAD or internship opportunity

Hello Friends,

My son has completed 1st year of his bachelor and he is holding H4 visa at the moment.
On H4 normally, nobody can have earned income unless they can get EAD.
As an intern, he will have earned income, which is not allowed.

My questions is : is there any other laws or ways which can allow him to do his internship for his education ? Is there any way he can get EAD for that matter ?

FYI : I as his father am on H1B visa and have I140 approved. Five months way from filing date for my greencard.

He can change to F1 student status, and he can work on campus and do CPT/OPT.

Thanks for your reply. for converting to F1, I might wait till he turns 21 year . I am hoping to get my greencard filed before that since my priority date is just few months away.
