H1B and H4 petition numbers different??

Hello,

My wife came here on F2 visa and after that her H4 visa was applied for along with my H1B while in US.
We had our visa stamping done in India and on our return the VO @ the POE asked us why our petition numbers were different? He asked us to have that corrected.
Upon speaking with the company lawyer, she said that is absolutely no problem and the petition number is different as my wife's H4 petition was approved while she was in US. If her H4 were to be approved while she was still in India then it would have been the same number as my petition....

Could someone please clarify as she will be traveling again but without me this time.....

Will the email clarifying this "issue" from the lawyer help in any way????

Each submission to USCIS results in a receipt number. Since your H1 and her H4 COS applications were likely processed separately, it is a non issue.
