VISA stamping

Hi, My current H1 stamp is expired and I already have an approved petition but could not able to secure a Drop Box date in India. Is it advisable to try Mexico/ Canada for a drop box.

I don't have Canadian VISA but I guess that would not be a problem. Current H1 was stamped in last 48 months so I guess I am eligible for appointment waiver.

Any help would be appreciated.
