H1B stamping

I am travelling to India Nov end and I need to get my H1-B stamped to return back to my work in US within 2 weeks. I have paid the visa fees at HDFC Mumbai branch and just waiting for the interview date for Dec 2010.No dates are showing at vfs website can you advice me :

1. Can I be eligible for an emergency visa interview in case if the visa interview dates do not open up upon my arrival to India at Mumbai consulate?
2. Can I take an appointment in any other city (i.e. Kolkata or Delhi)?
3. IMP In case of the 2nd is yes, then can I use my HDFC visa receipt that was paid in Mumbai for an appointment in Kolkata?
I will appreciate you advice.

>>> Yes. You can try sending an email to the VFS helpdesk. VFS will determine whether you are really eligible for an emergency appointment.

>>> Yes. A returning H1B worker can take the visa interview at any U.S consulate in India.

H1B re stamping

Now days we have seen that many applications have been put for Additional Administrative Processing.
Like in my case i came to india for vacation and appeared at the chennai embassy for Visa re stamping and they told me that they will give my passport after some administrative processing.Till date i have not received my passport from the embassy.
I'm not writing this to scare you,just wanted to share my experience with you.
Luckily my Company has given my permission to work from Offshore until i receive my passport.
